USA The Nanny?

Pardon me if posting that link was against the rules, but that's straight from the factory. Does that actually exist? I was under the impression that release got cancelled...

It seems to be legitimate, if obscure. EZY DVD claim to be shipping within 7-10 days:

http://www.ezydvd.com.au/blu-ray/the...ror/dp/6166647

Or JB Hi-Fi in 5 days:

https://www.jbhifi.com.au/movies-tv-...ny-the/712644/

Be warned: the disc WILL be hard-coded for Region B.

I ordered mine from https://www.jbhifi.com.au. Received yesterday (live in UK) - only quick check, no special features and very basic menu (just play film).

Thanks!

I'm region-free so no worries there. How's the PQ? It was initially cancelled due to poor source material. Has that been corrected? This one has been on my radar for a while.

Thank you both for your responses!

You had me worried for a second. I was thinking 'why would anyone want to listen to Fran Drescher in lossless audio?'

I was in JB Hifi here in Adelaide the other day and saw a copy on the shelf. Didn't buy it because I thought I read somewhere here on this forum, a few months ago, that the distributors couldn't find a HD transfer of the film. I was worried it was just a SD upscale so I didn't pick it up. If anyone who has it could post some screencaps or comment on the video, that would be great.

Thanks for the heads up! I ordered it because that's what I do when I see a Hammer film released on Blu-ray. Hopefully, it is decent.

I'm watching this right now. I hesitate to call it an upscale. It certainly has detail, but it's obvious a full blown restoration was not done. It still has dirt and scratches. Maybe they did just take a print as mentioned earlier. It looks pretty good for what it is. I have no way to take screenshots. It doesn't scream upscale immediately anyhow. Sorry I can't help more.

Are you able to check whether it is 1080i or 1080p?

I would also be very interested in knowing whether it is 1080i or 1080p.

Mines been on the way for a few days so I hope to have it soon.
As long as it's 1080 I'm happy. P or I - who cares?
Having both P and I in the collection I don't see any difference

The case and my tv both tell me the disc is 1080p.
No bonuses whatsoever but while the image is far from perfect it's too good to be an upscale. It's not the best quality print they could have used and buyers should treat this disc as one purely for people who just want as many Hammer titles in HD as possible. Audio is Linear PCM but the track is bad enough to show the age of the film. Not cleaned up at all.
Compared to other Studio Canal titles it's way down on the quality list although the lack of the irritating SC jingle at the start indicate the source for this might be quite an early HD master.

But at £11.97 delivered to the UK from Australia it seems priced appropriately for what it is

Still waiting for my copy to arrive in the US. It's been over 2 weeks. What does JB HiFi use to ship these things? Bernard and Miss Bianca on Wilbur?

One of the reasons I use JB as a last resort is the long delay there always seems to be between placing the order and shipping the item.

Having said that, Fishpond were also very slow at getting this one posted- much slower than they have been previously

It has been shipped and en route for over two weeks now. I know JB Hi Fi says 2-4 weeks, but it seems like this should've already arrived by now. Of course, I only import discs from Australia once or twice a year so I maybe misremembering.

I've ordered quite often from them and it usually takes 4 to 6 weeks to get my purchases. That's from the time I get my dispatched notice. Only once was my package lost. They replaced them immediately.

That's good to know. Thanks for the reassurance.

It's about the only logical explanation isn't it? The other is a not very good digital recreation.
