I honestly don't know which forum to ask this question but it involves movies and this thread gets lots of traffic so i will start here. I have a bunch of movie trailers from when I used to work at a movie theater 15 years ago and am considering selling them because my family needs the cash. Most I can get a guide for on ebay such as Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Star Wars, etc.
However, the prize of my collection is the original Spiderman teaser that had him catching a helicopter in a web between the Twin Towers. 9/11 happened and these trailers were removed and supposed to be destroyed. This one wasn't. How much do you think it is worth? How would I find that out other than Ebay? And I am not looking for the "it is worth what someone will pay" answer. I am asking if other movie fans like yourself think there is some legitimate value in it. I know it is very rare so if 20 bucks is the most I am gonna get I will keep it. Thanks in advance for anyone who can help. |

I imagine it would fetch a decent price. It's a physical copy of a rare teaser for one of the biggest movies ever featuring one of the most famous/beloved characters ever (who's about to be reintroduced in a new movie, which might help you sell it for a higher price). Someone out there will pay a good bit for it. Just look around on eBay for similar items and try to gauge a price based on that. I honestly have no idea what any kind of celluloid goes for, trailer or otherwise, but these $20-$50 prices seem kinda low.

In the digital age, where you can have instant access to these kinds of things, I dont imagine it is worth near what you think it is. My guess is some collector may give you $20-$50 for it, but that's about it.
Edit: I see someone else posted the same link while I was typing mine lol |

Although he's the favorite whipping boy of a certain part of the internet, you might want to try to get in touch with Harry Knowles or his father in Austin, TX.
Based on what he's posted over the years, they are both big time collectors of hard to find celluloid. If they don't know the value, they might be able to point you towards someone who does... |

You DO know that anything that is on Pawn Stars is pre-arranged and everything is acted, right?

You do know it's a real life, functioning pawn shop in Vegas. They do way more business than what's shown on the TV series. Anyone can walk in there and sell an item, just like any other pawn shop in America.

I knew a guy who had something listed on ebay, and he was contacted by someone from the producers of Pawn Stars asking if he'd want to come out and be on the show with his item. |
