I'll believe it when I see it (the lossless audio bit). At any rate I outright refuse to purchase Blues Brothers 2000 in any capacity, so the only way I'll get the new disc of the first movie (assuming it's truly new) is if it is later released individually or something buys this set and will sell just the first movie disc.

The original disc did have lossless audio, only it was on one of the extras, not the movie itself. As such this new release could be using the same misleading specs.
That said, if it was an actual upgrade to lossless audio I'd happily buy it alongside its horrible sequel. |

It coulda been worse. The Joe Morton character was originally written for Jim Belushi, with him being Jake's biological brother rather than Curtis's biological son, naturally.
Morton is actually the least-embarrassing part of the movie whereas Jim Belushi undoubtedly would have been the most-embarassing. Last edited by GuruAskew; 05-03-2016 at 01:37 AM. |

The atrocity for me was Buster Blues. The studio wanted it to be "kid friendly" and if Aykroyd wanted the movie made, he had to succumb to their notes. The scene where Elwood used the shaving cream to get out of a jam made my heart break, my favorite characters of all time reduced to buffoonery that wouldn't fly in a Minions movie.

Yeah, it's several notches below the original in terms of quality, but the musical performances in BB2000 are outstanding, and the car crash scene is so ridiculously over-the-top that it justifies the film's existence all by itself!
I for one am glad it will be included with the all-time classic that is the original. "Anyone for an Orange Whip?" |

Aside from the scene at the beginning of BB2000 where Elwood waits in vain for Jake, the film is terrible.

Good to heard Double Feature of Blues Brothers Blu-ray but I'm pass cause I already own an steelbook (the blue one with the Elwood & Jake's sunglasses and hands cover) and bought it $10 at Target last year and this one of my most favorite film. I don't own second one yet and I seen it in theater when the movie coming out and so will get individual Blu-ray.
