Default 4K TV Questions?

Folks,

I need some advice on a 4K UHD TV because relying on Amazon's information is always a crap-shoot. I am looking to get one in the next 6 months and I need to know what models do what. Here's what I need:

-Name brand preferred, but I wouldn't mind an off brand it if meets everything below.
-65" or larger
-120 Hz or any other refresh divisible by 24
-HDR
-HDCP 2.2
-3D would be nice, but it's not a deal breaker.

Thanks in advance.

Here you go then.

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/vizio-65...&skuId=4352400

65", Has both HDR, great Vizio name brand, lots of local dimming, and its under $2000. If you get it though, you will need a DVR/cablebox to watch television on it though, as it doesn't have a built-in tuner. This isn't a problem for most though.

Is this one comparable or is it missing some features? http://www.samsclub.com/sams/65-uhd-....ip?navAction=

No HDR on that model line. The only Vizio UHDTVs with HDR are the new 2016 smart cast P-series which you have to get from Best Buy at this point.

Your gonna be limited at that price range unfortunately. And with tvs phasing out 3d, even more limited.

There's 2 tvs in that range but neither have 3d.

Samsung 65Ks8000: $2200 right now. Bright enough for hdr, over 95% dci p3. Edge lit, hdr10 only. Does have moth eye anti glare which seriously curs down on reflections making colors and blacks look better.

Vizio P series: 95% dci. Almost 600 nits full screen max. Full array with 128 zones, so blacks will be deep and uniform. Comes with an android tablet that's used for casting app and making picture setting adjustments. This tv also has Dolby vision with hdr10 promised by summer.

Note, I just got an email from Vizio showing off the new M Series line. This year's M Series will have HDR, and the 65" is on sale on their website for $1499 plus 5% off. Might want to look at that too. It's not as good as the P series but it is 75% of the price.

How is it not as good as the P series?

It doesn't have wide color gamut and has half the dimming zones. Also comes with a smaller tablet. The vizio P is well worth the extra money.

Are the new Vizio P's true 10 bit panels, let alone 12 bit?

I'm really surprised it's labeled as Dolby Vision capable as their encoded UHD Blu-ray media's specular highlights are supposedly graded at 1,000 nits and higher with 12 bit video depth.

Yes they are 10bit all the way through the chain. Vizio has publicly gauranteed this. Their CTO actually is a major part of the owners thread on AVS. He answers all questions and relays problems to his team who then works to fix issues.

The Great thing about dolby vision, is that it has its own system that knows the tvs capabilites and auto adjusts itself to fit the tv. This is one of their biggest selling points on their format.

No, it does not. Only the P Series has full HDR with WCG. Then the step down M Series has HDR without WCG. The rest are 4K SDR.

I just got the Sony XBR930D today and loving it. No light bleed or banding. Solid blacks. Picture is the best I have seen besides OLED. Its pretty pricey though 2,000 for the 55inch and 3,000 for the 65inch. It has Active 3D but I haven't tried that out as I am not really into 3D.

I think you may need to read up a little more on this. There are no 12 bit flat panels last I checked, and it isnt a requirement for DV... Many of them just achieved real 10 bit (not 8 bit + dither) in recent couple of years.

The LG OLED's are 10bit panels, and LG designed their custom SoC with DV LAST year.

I have the 2016 Vizio P65-C1 and IMO it's an outstanding TV. I highly recommend it if you can find one.
