'Godzilla-Anime.com' Domain Name Registered Under Toho

TOHO's newest Godzilla film, Godzilla: Resurgence (Shin Godzilla), opened in Japan on July 29, and Funimation plans to release the film in theaters in late 2016. TOHO released the first film in the franchise in 1954, and since the opening of Godzilla: Resurgence, TOHO's live-action Godzilla franchise of 29 films has collectively sold over 100 million tickets in Japan. American films about Godzilla opened in 1998 and 2014.

The franchise inspired two western animated series: one from Hanna-Barbera in 1978 and one that served as a follow-up to the 1998 film. The Godzilla character first appeared in a Japanese television anime on July 22 in a crossover with Crayon Shin-chan.

I wouldn't be opposed to it, so long as it's done well (obviously). I mean, the latest live action Godzilla movie is basically "Godzilla as envisioned by the team behind Evangelion", and it's been positively received in Japan so far. So, why not do the reverse?

If it ends up a disappointment, well, I'll still have the movies so I can deal with that.

Honestly? Because you do a lot more in animation then you can in live action.

I'm honestly surprised there isn't more cross over between anime and live action. The fact the very first appearance of Godzilla in an anime (Crayon Shin Chan) only happened THIS YEAR. Is nuts to me.

The Recent Ultraman manga has been really good. I'd like to see an anime of that.
