For those Alfred Hitchcoock fans who issued this, it's really worth watch. It's a new HBO documentary about the 1966 interviews Truffaut conducted with Hitchcock over a week ( leading to a life long friendship that is emotional I. The documentary). This new documentary explains how the meetings came together, why they they are so important to Hithpchcock's legacy, etc. there is al almost complete discussin of many of Hitchcock's movies, some huge titles some small, also has some nice new interviews with other film makers suck as Richard Linklater, Wes Anderson and MartinScorsesee ( among others). If you are a fan of film and especially Hitchcock, you really got to catch it on re-run or HBO Go. It's about an hour and a half long. Some great insights. Nicely done.

I watched it today. It's quite good. It feels like it's lacking in a way that I can't quite put into words, but it's a must-see for any cinephile that enjoys either filmmaker's work. Mostly Hitchcock, because it's pretty much all about him.

...to see the differences in how they worked and what they were trying to achieve artistically. I like Hitchcock quite a bit, but his style is a little too stiff and rigid for him to be one of my favorite directors. He practically says as much in the interviews. ...that he wishes he would've opened up and taken more chances. |
