42 foot is rather large. May I recommend a 42" (inch)?

I'd go with a 40" XB4 or 46" XBR4.

Even the 42" or 46" Sony Bravia W3000 would be a nice TV if the XBR4 series is out of your price range.

My orginal tv that I wanted was a 58" tv but I'm going to be stuck in the dorm for 2 years and I don't think I can fit a tv that big in the dorms.

Nope, no price range. the sky is the limit..well almost..lol. Just looking for the best tv to get. I don't think I'll be able to fit anything bigger than a 42" tv in the dorms though.

If money is no object, why would he go with a cheap tv that is lacking in, I don`t know, picture quality? I didn`t see any panasonics in that price range with `great` pictures...

I recommend my Philips 42. Excellent TV for the price - if money is an object - 42PFL7432D - give it a look see. $1300 at the right place, maybe less.

I see a lot of people recommending Sony's but every time I walk into the local Sony Style store I can't help but be appalled by the image. I don't know if it's the source material but it's just horrible for a "high-end" TV. Sony used to make TV and when they did they were CRTs. These were nice but I have yet to see a nice Sony LCD. I would love to buy one but these days I would look elsewhere, regardless of budget.

Default Gentlemen please...

Opinions are good, but only if they are collaborated, and not emotional.
