(Aug. 31, 2016) – On October 25, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment (SPHE) celebrates the 10th Anniversary of the landmark comedy favorite with an ultimate fan edition of TALLADEGA NIGHTS: THE BALLAD OF RICKY BOBBY, triumphantly returning to Blu-ray. The classic comedy stars Will Ferrell (Step Brothers) as #1 NASCAR driver Ricky Bobby, who stays atop the heap thanks to a pact with his best friend and teammate, Cal Naughton, Jr. (John C. Reilly, Guardians of the Galaxy). But when a French Formula One driver (Sacha Baron Cohen, Borat) makes his way up the ladder, Ricky Bobby’s talent and devotion are put to the test. The ultimate fan edition includes the theatrical version of the film fully remastered in 4K, plus over 90 minutes of new special features including 13 never-before-seen deleted and extended scenes, interviews with Ricky & Jean, Raw Takes, director Adam McKay’s Video Diaries, auditions and more. Wow, 4K for a ten year old film. Does it really need it? I haven't watched the pre-existing blu-ray for years so I can't remember if there are any issues, and the extant review on this site is one of those piss poor reviews from the early days.

It is the superior theatrical release which never came out to retail, only as the PS3 promo with lossy sound.

The color looked oversaturated to me, compared to the DVD that I started with, and even the old Sony blu-ray promos which had clips. I might be wrong though as so long since I saw the DVD.

A lot of the special features have been on the UK disc (which I guess was the same as the promo release), but it will be interesting to see if the AV is improved.

You can't really go wrong with Ferrell and Reilly.

Never bought it but I did like the movie, plus finally the theatrical and unrated cuts are together in one package

Yes a new theatrical BD and the old unrated disc in the package.

Cover art is not great but I love Talladega, and I also prefer theatrical.

This title really needed a remaster. The coloring on the original release blu-ray is bland, dull, just plain horrible.
