Surprised to see that there isn't already a thread for this great model! Bought on something of an impulse around two weeks ago (at a great discount!) and could not be happier with its overall performance.
A few things of note: -The picture is BRIGHT, sharp, and the color reproduction is absolutely gorgeous. Every time I watch a blu-ray on this it feels like I'm seeing everything for the first time. So many new details to take in. Can finally enjoy my copy of "The Hateful Eight" without the feeling that I'm looking through a door's mail slot from 8 feet away. 100+ inches or bust! - The 3D is absolutely stunning. Having never owned a 3D television I can't directly compare, but to my eyes both Star Wars TFA and Jungle Book look just as good, if not better, as when I saw them theatrically here in Los Angeles. -Black levels could be better on 2D movies. This being an LCD projector I expected it to a certain degree and have calibrated the "Natural" and "Cinema" pictures as best I could according to a number of suggestions found in various forums and in youtube videos. Once adjusted I am mostly pleased, but may get a lens filter in the future. This is not an issue for 3D films as the glasses darken everything. -There is a fan that can be quite audible at times but keeping the picture in "eco" mode solves this for the most part. Only the Dynamic and bright settings really heat things up, and who wants to watch a movie in that mode anyway? Who else has this projector and how pleased have you been with it so far? I went with this over a similarly priced BenQ DLP because of reviews saying the 3D performance was only so-so with bulbs occasionally bursting. One said the the 3D seemed to have an overall red tint to the picture quality. Are black levels significantly better on BenQ models? Would be very interested to know. |

I'm surprised you haven't gotten any responses!
I finally worked up the interest in 3D only to find that it's not a flourishing market. ![]() I've had my eye on this, like you, because of the reported 3D quality, and B&H has it for $500, so I just ordered it ![]() I'm curious to know which glasses you have and what screen you're watching on. |

I recently bought a used Epson 2040. The 2D picture is great. The 3D should be but unfortunately there is something wrong. The 3D glasses Will not sync properly. I did get the Samsung Glasses to sync with minimal crosstalk but the screen became very dark. The other 3 brands of RF glasses could not isolate left and right separately.
I already own the Epson 2030 and the 3D is perfectly crosstalk free using the same RF glasses. Any help to fix this would be greatly appreciated. |

You're welcome. I hope it works as hoped.
Regarding brand listed compatible projector models, for my ViewSonic projector, it listed that it's compatible with Viewsonic projectors, but when I looked at the list of compatible models, mine wasn't on their list. I still went ahead and bought them, and they worked perfectly with my DLP Viewsonic projector to my relief. |
