Default Reminder to check out the region free deals

Hey guys, as most of us often do we forget that Black Friday deals extend past the stores that we usually see here. There are TONS of fantastic deals on amazon UK right now and other places and the exchange rate is incredibly low right now at 1gbp = 1.28usd. Even today's gold box deal on amazon is almost $10 cheaper in the UK.

So just remember to click on the region free deals thread above and also switch the region on the website to see other countries' Amazon trackers.

Edit: if you are a US citizen you also don't have to pay VAT so it's even cheaper than listed! I made a test order that cost around 210 pounds and during checkout the price dropped to about 180 pounds shipped.

Yup. I picked up Battlestar Galactica: The Complete Series for $24.42 shipped. I've never seen the show (I know...I'm ashamed of myself) and this was too great of a deal to pass up.

I did this a while back for around the same price and sat down some time last week and watched the first three quarters of the first season. Fantastic so far.

The prices on both seasons of rebels, Star Trek tng and tons others are fantastic right now. I'm definitely going to end up spending $200 or more than I originally planned this year with these box sets I forgot about.

Well worth it at that price. Prepare to be blown away (just don't give up during the Season 2 lull...)

The only trouble I have with Amazon.uk is that you don't get the best exchange rate. If it is 1.28 pounds to a dollar, they charge 1.32 or somewhere in that vicintity. You would think a big company like that would get the best exchange rates. I ordered a steelbook from Zavvi and got a exchange rate that was almost dead on with the official exchange rate at the time. Although if it cheaper then it doesn't matter. I ordered the Roddenberry Vault as a pre-order earliert for $25 including shipping.

The exchange rate is currently 1 -> 1.2. Amazons is 1.28 which is why I put that in my OP

But the prices for most of the stuff is soo cheap you won't might the very small surcharge on the exchange rate.

It's only the TV seasons. not the movies and 4.1...

98% of blu ray transfers are identical between different regions. The sets always have different packaging though so if that matters make sure to check out an unboxing or pictures somewhere online. Sometimes the UK sets have better packaging than the US alternatives. Also make sure the set is not region locked. most of the stuff isn't but that one time you don't pay attention is annoying

In this case, big difference - the UK version of Deadwood doesn't have the special features that are on the US version. But if you only want the episodes, it is fine.

yeah, I don't mind no extras. I just was making sure it wasn't some subpar transfer or anything. $16 shipped is STUPID for three seasons of an HBO show

Checking the threads on the UK version, there are also audio problems with it - not caused by it being from a different country, but just a screwup.

Zavvi has some pretty good deals on The Lion King 1-3, Toy Story 1-3, and Indiana Jones: The Complete Adventures.
