The five stages of acceptance...

1. Red Dawn? Shout Factory? No way!
2. Argh. I already own and love the existing Blu-ray. I hate double-dipping. Count me out!
3. I love this movie, though. It hits my 1980s childhood nostalgia sweet spot.
4. There will probably be new interviews and a better transfer.
5. When can I pre-order?

The film that almost single-handidly brought down the Soviet Empire deserves a Shout release imo.

...all of us would be speaking Russian if it hadn't been for this courageous film.

Oh please, the only reason we're not eating Borscht is because Rocky punched communism.

Red Dawn completely halted the momentum of the Soviet Union and revealed its vaunted military machine to be an empty, glass-jawed bully that couldn't hold up against a ragtag group of feisty teenagers.

...and it came out a year before Rocky 4.

Red Dawn should be required viewing in American history classes in every public school.

Can you explain this point of view to me? The vaunted Soviet Military machine was halted a few years give or take after the inquest into Afghanistan, well before Red Dawn was released...

I've never heard of this Afghanistan thing you're talking about...but it sounds made up.

Let me give you a little history lesson.

In the early days of World War III, guerillas - mostly children - placed their names upon a rock, called Partisan Rock.

They fought there alone and gave up their lives, so that this nation should not perish from the earth.

Pffft, the only reason that Rocky was unavailable to save the world from communism was because he was too busy saving the world from Mr T!

I came here tonight, I didn't know what to expect. I seen a lot of people hate me and I didn't know what to feel about that so I guess they didn't like much nothin' either. During this fight, I've seen a lot of changing, the way yous feel about me, and in the way I felt about you. In here, there were two guys killing each other, but I guess that's better than 20 million. I guess what I'm trying to say, is that if I can change, and you can change, everybody can change!

Nothing to be ashamed of. It's a respectable disc.
