Default National Geographic series "MARS"...

Anyone watching this?

Interesting combination of documentary interviews with real scientists/experts and a fictional narrative involving the first manned mission to Mars in the year 2033.

I'm completely fascinated by space travel in general and the idea of going to Mars someday is a dream that I hope I live to see fulfilled.

Some of the acting is a bit mediocre, especially when the actors are trying to pretend that they're providing "spontaneous" remarks while being interviewed for their mission.

But all in all...I'm hooked.

I've been watching it, and while I enjoy the documentary or whatever aspect too, I wish they had split the episodes into two parts instead of weaving them together. They kind of bring me out of the experience when something happens and then they bring it back to reality in the present and tell us how it could happen. Should be split into two 30 minute episodes, MARS and The Science of MARS or something lol

I wonder if we can get this thread past one page?

I'm gonna make it my personal mission to see that that happens.

Whatever it takes.

...I'm gonna do it for Neil Armstrong.

I watched the first episode. I thought it was pretty good, but I too wish they would split the episodes into 2 parts. I forgot to watch the 2nd episode, I'll try to catch up.

Hope this helps.

Ya I'm watching, pretty decent. The cuts between the story and educational are a bit jarring and annoying at times but it isn't bad.

The first three episodes were just OK. Will watch the remaining episodes nevertheless.

Although I really interested in space travel and stuff like that I would never want to visit Mars in a possible future because there is nothing except stones and probably ice in caves. I really don't see humanity settling on Mars in the future.

Saw the first episode and liked how it's grounded in present-day research. Looking forward to watching the remaining episodes when they show up on (commercial-free) Hulu, which will be after the last episode has aired.

I'm hoping for some sex in the next episode.

Any space crew stuck on Mars for years at a time will eventually starting boinking one another.

...could really spice things up.

I was interested in seeing this until I realized it was not the adaption of the Kim Robinson trilogy (novel series). Spike is supposedly working on an adaption of Red Mars and I thought this series was that adaption.

I finally got caught up with this show. Did anyone get some weird vibes from Paul when he was talking with Javier in the greenhouse?

Had these saved on my DVR. Been marathoning and man, what a show. Loved the combination of real-world science and fiction.

Definitely.

I knew Paul was going to ruin everything from the moment he arrived.

...him and his snotty wife.

I thought they were going to catch him having sex with one of his plants.
