Wow. One Million Years BC, When Dinosaurs Ruled The Earth, Island of Terror and now Gwangi!!! Awesome news.

Now we need Behemoth The Sea Monster, War of the Worlds, When Worlds Collide, Tarantula, Deadly Mantis, Incredidle Shrinking Man, Dr. Jekyll & Sister Hyde, Fiend Without A Face, the Quatermass movies, King Kong 76, X The Unknown and The Day of the Triffids. My childhood favorites collection is almost complete!!

One of my bigger bucketlist titles !! This also bodes well for more monster movies from them, but it seems less likely we will see a SPFX Volume 2 but who cares, this is just wonderful !!

I need this, One Million Years B.C, and Mighty Joe Young and my Harryhausen Collection Will be complete. I am not paying $30 for 3 World of Gulliver and it's not even stop motion.

While I haven't been able to bring myself to pay $30 for Gulliver either to complete my collection, I do want to point out there are 3 stop motion sequences in the film. That said, only the alligator fight has any real interest. DVD Drive-in has some interesting info about what happened with this film in their review.

I was thinking the same thing with regards to a potential second box, but as long as WAC eventually gifts us with The Thing and Black Scorpion (Giant Behemoth and From Hell It Came would be nice too), I won't mind the lack of a set.

Many years ago I saw THE VALLEY OF GWANGI on tv when I was in college and thought it was not as good as THE BEAST FROM 20,000 FATHOMS, 20 MILLION MILES TO EARTH and MYSTERIOUS ISLAND----but I'll get it to see Harryhausen's fantastic special effects and dinosaurs.

Any idea on when THE THING Blu-ray is going to be released and any special features included?

Fantastic new, of course, although I have always hated this cover art. The original poster art was so cool. Even the slightly revamped VHS art was great. Why this chubby dinosaur (which looks like it's puking) art for the DVD and Blu? gwangi.jpg

I first saw it with my cousin in a now long extinct little neighborhood bijou in upstate New York. Summer of 1969. I was ten.

Now, when I watch it I think it does suffer from an inadequate budget, lack of a certain scope to the story (it's basically warmed-over King Kong), and too many dubbed actors. Also, James Franciscus was a pretty boy, but he had an acting range around as thick as your average door.

Still, the movie is a favorite. I've watched it on the Warner Archive streaming service. This transfer should look great.

When exactly is this coming out?
