Thought this game deserved its own thread has it is designed from the ground up for VR. It is the first game that uses the Aim controller, which is a gun shaped accessory designed for shooters.

The game, along with the gun, is released today I believe.

Anyone plan on getting this?

Just played the first 25 minutes or so and I love it already!

It looks great and it plays great, very natural while aiming the gun although having to actually turn your body took some time to getting used to for me.

This is clearly a winner for Sony and PS VR as far as I'm concerned, can't wait to play more tomorrow. That's it for now though, gotta get up early tomorrow...

Good to hear, thanks.
Here's a walkthrough of level 1 for those interested in the gameplay. I haven't found any reviews yet. Game looks good. Can you walk freely from the look of it without restrictions, like in a regular FPS game?

Is the main campaign about 6 hours? The game Farpoint is $49.99, so that's a reasonable price if there is replay value in the levels aside from just quickly moving through.

Cool, thanks.

Here's an interview addressing the ability to freely move around, which is what I want to see a lot more of in new VR games:

I see this as phase 1. Full game FPS proof of concept. Next we move on to less linear, more adventurous games. This seems like a good start. The true gems will come hopefully.

I already consider both this and Resident Evil VII as true PS VR gems.

Next up: Ace Combat 7.

I tried all of the control options but find the standard one the most immersive. So that means no turning stick, instead I have to actually move my own body in the direction I want to shoot. It's great fun running around an enemy while simultaneously shooting it.

That sounds cool. Can you rotate 180 degrees behind you to attack the spiders?

You can't really rotate like that, you have to keep walking and then turn your body. You cannot actually shoot behind you. It's limited but it works well IMO.
