Default Will Older IMAX Titles Get Eventual 4K Upgrades?

One title I would want to own on UHD is Super Speedway, I own the DVD but the PQ on the Blu-ray looks rather soft.

Only a few scant titles are on the format currently and there are many more titles that have never come to home video that I would love to see.

Has any studios or IMAX announced something for the future of UHD/4K?

I have tons of IMAX BD's and the older they are, the rougher they look. I don't think any of them have been remastered besides maybe a handful that I am not remembering.

I would love to see the Rolling Stones IMAX concert film in UHD!

On a related note, Universal included the Imax version of Apollo 13 on a second disc for the 10th anniversary dvd in 2005. That was the very first DMR job back in 2002, followed by Attack of the Clones in November. Both were shortened to 120 minutes since that was the maximum amount of film the 15/70 projectors could hold (the limit was increased to 170 minutes not long after). I wonder if those dmr masters are still sitting on a hard drive after all these years. I also wonder what resolution they were working at for those blow-ups and if they would gain anything from a uhd release.

Weren't they also cropped to 4:3 ? I seem to recall that

Apollo 13's was framed at 1.66:1 since it was a Super 35 production, but I think the vfx shots ended up getting cropped as a result since they were only finished at a ratio closer to 2.35:1.

I'm honestly not sure how Clones' blow-up was framed, but the movie was definitely finished at 2.35:1 so I'm guessing that was the Imax ratio as well.

I hope someone else can chime in here on this topic but I thought Clones was severely cropped and not retaining its OAR

Clones was pretty heavily cropped from what I've heard.

Worth mentioning that Clones is forever stuck at 1080p resolution due to the cameras and CGI.

I can't imagine it looked very good blown-up on an IMAX screen.
