Just like the old AVS polls, the site is sufficiently biased these days, reasonable conclusions cannot be drawn.

I think HD DVD was at 68% when I posted the same link about a year ago. I noticed HD DVD is now down to 50%. This was around the time I stopped going to HDD, and started visiting here. See the link below. By the responses, it looks like no one cared much about a HDD poll back then either.

"Both formats have their merits" What a joke!

I also hear "Both formats have their place" That is true. Blu-ray in my theater, and HD-DUD in my garbage can.

Is it tru that HD-DVD outsold Blu-ray in 2006? I don't remember it being that prominent.

I believe that is true. It's also unsurprising: I think the first HD-DVD players shipped at the end of March 2006 while BD players didn't hit the market till June.
