Land of the Dead (2005) (Collector's Edition)

***NEW TITLE ANNOUNCEMENT***

We’ll thrilled to add another George A Romero film to our sinister roster this year in the form of LAND OF THE DEAD!

Project is still in progress but here’s what we can tell you so far:

- The Blu-ray release will be branded as a "Collector's Edition" (of course!) that will come with a slipcover (guaranteed for three months after its original release date.)

- The newly-commissioned front-facing artwork you see pictured comes to us from The CRP Group (Rabid, Firestarter, Serial Mom) The reverse side of the wrap will showcase the original theatrical poster art design.

- Bonus features and specs are still in progress and will be announced sometime in Sept but we can confirm that this will be a 2-disc set and will include new extras plus the theatrical and unrated versions of the film.

- Official street date is 10/24/17. However, if you pre-order now directly from our website @ https://www.shoutfactory.com/product...roduct_id=6375 you’ll get it two weeks earlier plus you’ll received a free 18” x 24” rolled poster of the newly-designed key art (while supplies last)!

My rank: Day, Land, Diary, Night, Survival. I like Savini's remake about a hundred times more than the original.

I thought that Dead '90 was a stronger take on the script and I like that Barbara was more proactive. The only thing that really turns me off is the constant and non-stop eighties synth music and that everyone has two acting modes: shouting at the top of their lungs and having no lines. While there was tension and loud moments between Cooper and Ben in the original, there was layers to the performances. In '90, the entire cast was dialed all the way to 11 and it stayed there.

The upside is that being Shout!, this will almost certainly have a reversible cover with the original artwork. While the poster was kind of tepid, it was better than this.

That would be fantastic. The Universal release is in dire needs of a remaster and adding the uncensored director's cut in the US and the original theatrical cut.

As Universal didn't even bother to port over all the extras from the DVD onto the blu, I'd be up for this. New extras and providing both theatrical and unrated cuts, and I'm in.

Didn't expect this. I like Land of the Dead so I'll grab this one. Night of the Living Dead is honestly the only one in the series I don't like very much or even enough to want to own. The remake however isn't too bad.
