If it's a new master I will definitely double dip.

Same here. An absolute no-brainer.

But my guess it just a re-package. Because I'm both cynical and realistic.

Not exactly a wealth of information at that link. If deleted scenes are included, I'll double dip.

Where does it say that this is a "30th Anniversary Edition?" I too fully expect this to be another repackaging of the same transfer à la It's A Wonderful Life and The Untouchables, and nothing more.

I don't know, they did improve The Breakfast Club eventually, so maybe this will get a new scan too.

Too bad it's probably just going to be the same crap transfer as the non-anniversary blu-ray.

Just imagine John Candy as the studio in this gif and the consumers are Steve Martin.

It says that on the Just Announced page for videoETA. They also show a re-release of Scrooged coming out the same day, so this could very well just be part of another wave of Paramount titles coming out that were previously distributed by Warner. Next year is the 30th anniversary for Scrooged, so maybe they're doing one early for that too

Thanks for that. I'll withhold my judgment until we have more info then.

Not that it matters much but Scrooged & Planes Trains have always been Paramount manufactured/distributed -- Warner had nothing to do with either of those.

I really wish fathom events would bring this movie back as part of the TCM big screen classics. I've seen this movie dozens of times, but never on the big screen.

I caught this on the big screen a couple years ago Thanksgiving week. It was such a blast watching it with an audience. Obviously a blast in general too

Fathom events would just stream the blu-ray?

I went to a couple of their showings and felt ripped off because the quality was so obviously not from a 35mm or DCP. It very much looked like blu-ray compression blown up on the big screen.

Huh? Warner distributed both of them as part of the deal they made with Paramount.

This release of Planes is distributed by Warner: https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Plane...Blu-ray/61864/

These releases, including a Steelbook of Scrooged were distributed by Warner:
