Paramount Titanic 20th Anniversary Edition

This year marks Titanic's 20th Anniversary (1997-2017)!
Nothing has been announced yet (and propably won't) but I seriously hope we'll get a 20th anniversary edition, which could either be an extended version of the film, or a 4K one. I'm sure there are a lot of special features to be included, too.
*fingers crossed*

I'd buy a steelbook but otherwise I'm happy with the release from a few years ago. I only watch it so many times per year, kind of a sad story for me.

That big fat 3D version is good enough for me, thanks.

EDIT:
Well, sh*t. For some reason I always thought that edition had the extended cut, but apparently not? I used to have the extended 3-disc Titanic DVD, but I'll have to check at home to see if I still have it or not.

If the extended cut gets a separate release, then maybe I'll buy it again.

An extended version of the film has never been released. You probably mean the 3-disc collector's edition, which was released in 2005.

Yes. For some reason, I thought that had an extended cut, but I must have been mistaken.

Steelbook? Naked Rose in the couch for the artwork, or no sale!

If it's announced for standard Blu-ray, I'd only purchase if it comes with an extended cut of the film. If they release the theatrical cut in UHD, I would get that. I have bought it three times already, may as well make it four.

I would buy it if it came with a digital copy and not one on a disc.

There were a ton of deleted scenes on the disc, which may be why people were thinking there was an extended cut. But yeah, so far only the theatrical version has been released thus far and frankly, that's long enough. Although I'm enough of a Titanic junkie I'd totally dig into an extended cut over an evening for sure.

I remember James Cameron saying in an interview that he considers the 3 hour 15 minute cut of the film as it ran theatrically to be his director's cut.

It is, but that doesn't mean there can't be an extended edition

I emailed Paramount a few weeks ago surrounding Titanic's 20th anniversary edition, so if anyone would like to make it happen, you can send an email (telling them that fans want it) in this adress:

I'm not sure if Paramount will release Titanic on UHD before Fox. Paramount just has distribution rights domestically, so Paramount might just have to wait and see what Fox hands them. It's really a Fox movie just released by Paramount in the US and Canada.

That being said, for the $65 million check Paramount handed Fox, Paramount should have a say in getting a 20th anniversary edition. They gave us a 2 disc 10th anniversary set, but nothing was done by Fox internationally for its 10th. The set is just the 2005 set without the 3rd disc. It'd be fantastic to get Titanic in 4K with an Atmos track, as I'd upgrade just for this movie alone.
