Really looking forward to this. It definitely deserves it's own thread. Am understanding that it will be using the superior US SF master.

BLACK CHRISTMAS makes its UK Blu-ray debut from 101 Films!
In 1974 Bob Clark established a new horror genre with his festive fear masterpiece Black Christmas. Now, over four decades later, 101 Films proudly presents the UK Blu-ray debut of this chilling cult classic.
Sorority house Pi Kappa Sigma is preparing for Christmas but little do they know, 'tis the season for murder. First, the obscene phone calls begin and a girl goes missing in mysterious circumstances...then the bodies begin to pile up. Can the girls survive the holidays, and is the killer lurking closer to home than they think? Horror veteran John Saxon (A Nightmare on Elm Street) leads an all-star cast in a holiday favourite that ushered in the slasher film with its tense sequences of stalk and stab and sadistic yuletide blood-letting.
So put on the fire, and gather round the family for the most wonderful time of the year, as 101 Films serves up the UK's first ever 2K presentation of this creepy horror stocking filler.

General release date: 13 November 2017

The film will be released to Sainsbury's stores on 6 November 2017, with exclusive art cards.

My Sainsburys only has brand new film releases so I won't see it there (no catalogue titles). Would like to pick up this release for a Christmas Eve viewing.

There are three commentaries included also.

One from Clark.

One from Saxon and Dullea.

And one from "Billy".

That's the biggest waste of space on a disc ever. It's not even funny in the slightest.

If it is a Sainsbury's exclusive most of the larger stores will stock it. I'm surprised at how many stocked the Eureka DVD of The Tiger... before the effing BD was announced!

As I understood it, the original mono track on the Scream Blu ray was an unlistenable mess and they had to repress the discs. It's why I've avoided buying any off eBay as I don't want to end up lumbered with one of them.

So, which one is the official/final cover?

OR

the one amazon uk is showing?

I sure hope it's the first one. That second one with the Christmas ball is terrible.

Who's that in the ornament? It looks more like Piper Laurie from Carrie than Billy.

Preordered from Amazon when it was first posted in the hope that the current £22.99 RRP price reduces to a more realistic price. I also dumped my Tartan DVD in the expectation that the 2K master will show a heck of a lot more detail!!
