I didn’t know about a remake. If it doesn’t return to the iTunes Store before then, it most definitely will when the remake is released.

I think the new movie is stuck in Development Hell. There is "news" every couple of years and them it vanishes again.

That’s the latest news on it. Obviously, you can only take that with a grain of salt, but it’s pencilled in for December 2019. Which means the production team have another year to resolve any problems, before they begin filming. If not, it won’t be getting a release in December 19.

Possibly. Whatever the reason, I’m confident it will return eventually. Some titles come and go in the iTunes Store, whereas others show up for a while and disappear forever.

I just noticed it had been removed from the iTunes Store. I did want to buy it, but not for $14.99. So I thought I’d wait and see if it ever showed up on special offer.

There was 2 entries in the store. One was a purchasable version. The other was the rental only one, which is still listed.

Maybe the rights expired for a studio/vendor. Looks like the one in the store for rent is Paramount, I think the 'forsale' one was another studio (WB probably)... Either that studio needs to renew the rights/update the iTunes listing, or maybe Paramount can make it for sale. That's my guess anyway... I'm sure it'll be back.
