Warner Bros Rampage 3D Blu-ray (2018) [Region Free]

Rampage 3D Blu-ray

Quote:
Global megastar Dwayne Johnson headlines the action adventure “Rampage,” directed by Brad Peyton.

Primatologist Davis Okoye (Johnson), a man who keeps people at a distance, shares an unshakable bond with George, the extraordinarily intelligent, silverback gorilla who has been in his care since birth. But a rogue genetic experiment gone awry mutates this gentle ape into a raging creature of enormous size. To make matters worse, it’s soon discovered there are other similarly altered animals. As these newly created alpha predators tear across North America, destroying everything in their path, Okoye teams with a discredited genetic engineer to secure an antidote, fighting his way through an ever-changing battlefield, not only to halt a global catastrophe but to save the fearsome creature that was once his friend.

“Rampage” also stars Oscar nominee Naomie Harris (“Moonlight”), Malin Akerman (TV’s “Billions”), Jake Lacy (TV’s “Girls”), Joe Manganiello (TV’s “True Blood”) and Jeffrey Dean Morgan (TV’s “The Walking Dead”); as well as P.J. Byrne (“The Wolf of Wall Street”), Marley Shelton (“Solace”), Breanne Hill (“San Andreas”), Jack Quaid (“The Hunger Games: Catching Fire”), and Matt Gerald (TV’s “Daredevil”).

Peyton directs from a screenplay by Ryan Engle and Carlton Cuse & Ryan J. Condal and Adam Sztykiel, story by Ryan Engle, based on the video game Rampage.
Pretty interested in this.

The Rock is controlling the helicopter again as in San Andreas. Great job with the motion capture of the Gorilla George. Looks entertaining. I hope the 3D is on par with San Andreas 3D or stronger, as seen in Pacific Rim 1 3D.

I can't view the trailer yet, but I am assuming this is based on the old video game? I would never have guessed that old game would be a candidate for a movie, but if so, I guess it will be easy to adapt the story to the big screen, considering there really wasn't one and they can make up anything they want .

I thought the lizard was the main character though and the Ape was player 2, or am I remembering that wrong?

Looks majorly cool! It is right up my alley. Known about this for some time and been looking forward to it. I hope there is a 3D trailer of this in theaters, like maybe before Justice League.

I'm expecting some decently good 3D as it is from the director of San Andreas & Journey 2 Mysterious Island.

The Werewolf, King Kong and Godzilla were represented in the game equally, where you could choose any character you wanted or all 3 players at the same time. The home console versions on the NES and SMSystem were 2 player only I remember.

Here's the Comic Con 2017 featurette on the story behind Rampage the Movie.

I just watched the first little bit of the trailer, but if the Rock doesnt end up having to touch that space rock and turn 50 feet tall to take on the animals then this movie isnt doing it right!

No big deal, but compared to what movies? King Kong style movies, Pacific Rim, Godzilla, etc?

The CGI looks believable to me for a giant Ape running about, crushing the city along with a giant crocodile and wolf. It's a fantasy/giant monster-action movie, and there aren't any actual giant creatures to compare it to in real life.

Looks like some of the same effects teams from San Andreas, which looked great for effects of the buildings toppling from the earthquake. Weta Digital, JEM FX, etc.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2231461/?ref_=ttco_co_tt

Not sure yet who's doing the conversion, but the 3D looks good in the trailer today, ranging from medium to high medium 3D.

Based on the local listings I'm seeing, looks like IMAX will only present this in 2D. Can't say I'm surprised.

Cinemark XD is an option for me.
