Default Feedback on SlickDeals UV linking caution ??

I just came across the following caution on slickdeals.net, and am wondering if anyone can provide any insight on whether it is accurate or has any bearing on the typical troubleshooting task of unlinking/relinking one's Ultraviolet account from VUDU to remedy porting hiccups.

Any insight is appreciated. Thanks.

***** CAUTION IF YOU HAVE BEEN LINKING AND UN-LINKING YOUR MAIN UV ACCOUNT TO MULTIPLE ACCTS on VUDU or FandangoNow *****

More negative changes have been coming to Ultraviolet - just this week. Effectively, Ultraviolet is limiting the number of accounts that can be linked to a single UV library to TWO - SO DO NOT UNLINK YOUR UV LIBRARY!!!.

This applies to people who have multiple Vudu and or FandangoNow accounts that they temporarily (in the past) connected with their main Ultraviolet accounts to make purchases so they would be deposited into ONE main UV account rather than running separate UV accounts for each account/email. Just in case this has unnecessarily worried some who do not go under the hood so to speak of their Vudu/FandangoNow\Ultraviolet accounts and keep things are they were when they created the accounts --> You don't need to, nor should you do anything if you always stay connected to the same UV library or if you have sub-accounts connected and are sharing your UV library.
This applies to people that were frog hopping their UV Library around to multiple UV accounts in order to take advantage of the deals. To be perfectly clear though, no one should be un-linking and moving their UV account over to a different Vudu or FandangoNow account at this point and likely from here on our going forward unless Ultraviolet changes things back to the way they were.

It has no bearing on relinking your UV account to your Vudu account. You can unlink and relink that as many times as you want between the same UV and Vudu account.

But if you're trying to link the same UV account to multiple Vudu accounts, you're going to run into problems. It behaves more like Movies Anywhere now.

Thanks for the feedback; good news. Curiously, that's how I *thought* the UV/VUDU link was supposed to work this whole time, so I've never linked my UV library/account to anything but the one VUDU account. (Secondary/shared UV accounts similarly only ever linked to a single VUDU account, plus whatever other UV-related providers/services were necessary.)

This post from earlier today to a parallel thread indicates the warning may be for real, so hopefully this user had linked their UV account to multiple different VUDU accounts -- though they state they only have the one VUDU account.

"You have exceeded the number of different VUDU Inc. accounts you can link to your UltraViolet Library. If you need help, please contact customer support."

Anyone ever have this problem before and know how to resolve it? I only have the one VUDU account so I'm thinking that perhaps there's some kind of 'lag' before the UV account is truly unlinked despite the confirmation email that it is already?

Any help would be greatly appreciated - thank you!

Is it possible that the max limit is based on the UV library, rather than UV account? For example, if my UV library is max-shared, that's 6 different VUDU accounts to which the UV library is effectively linked.

It all sounds to me like they're trying to get rid of grandfathered accounts and impose limit of 1 vudu connected to entire UV library. Based on the quoted experience the person unlinked their 6th UV slot and when they tried to re-link it, it gave them "exceeded" message, meaning UV is pushing them to reduce UV slots to 1. I understand support relinks them without a problem though. I'm speculating, but that's what that example sounds like to me. I understand most of the people complaining were connecting multiple vudus to a single UV slot.

Edit: just went through the other thread. Perhaps this is UV's measure to force people to contact UV support if they want to relink their accounts rather than letting people relink themselves. Or perhaps and hopefully it's a temporary bug. As Zu Nim said, unlinking and relinking a single vudu to a single UV should not be problematic since it's a common troubleshooting practice but it looks like people are having problems with that.

I thought i'd chime in because I'm having a similar problem. A recent FandangoNOW Ultraviolet purchase wasn't showing up on myuv so I called Fandango for help. They told me to unlink and relink my account to Ultraviolet, but when I unlinked it wouldn't let me relink. Here's the message I received (it's the same message posted up top, except it says FandangowNOW instead of Vudu):

"You have exceeded the number of different FandangoNOW accounts you can link to your UltraViolet Library. If you need help, please contact customer support."

It's been over a week and FandangoNOW has not helped me to relink my account.
