Default Replacing SD titles?

If I were to buy an SD copy of a movie now and it gets a HD version later down the line. When I buy the HD version, will I have two of the same title or will I just get HD rights on that same listing?

Yep. You just suddenly get little HD icons next to your movie titles.

depending on the streaming app you are viewing the movie would have the option to view it in SD/HD or UHD if it has it.....

Thanks guys, so am I right in assuming that there's no free SD to HD upgrade when a HD copy becomes available? I'd have to pay to upgrade to the HD version?

Well, sign up for Movies Anywhere and go through that process.. I only had 2 or 3 SD movies at the time, but they all upgraded to HD when I did that (as did all my Disney films back when it was just Disney Movies Anywhere).

Not every studio is participating, but most are... It's free, can't hurt to try that first!

Movies Anywhere does not upgrade titles from SD to HD anymore. The ones who were early adopters were granted a grandfathered courtesy for most of our films. New users will not be given this token when signing onto MA.

My movies were not upgraded. Itunes has them in HD and they're all still SD. I signed up the first day.

Movies Anywhere's (poor) customer service can fix that. It might take a while but they'll fix it.

Oh, that's a bummer... When it was DMA the upgrade to HD was always present and free... I figured now that it's just MA they wouldn't have changed that... Good to know though...
