Post 2018 Samsung flagship 65" and 75" Q9FN

Check out our dedicated website page on Samsung's new Q9F series of QLED Full Array Locally Dimmed UHD/HDR TVs. Available in 65" and 75" screen sizes w/prices and launch date.

I spent a lot of time with this very beautiful TV and the black level and lack of blooming and other unwanted LCD artifacts were not noticeable.

Samsung's 2018 flagship Back-lit QLED with be included in our 2018 TV Shootout evaluation event!

Let the games begin!

Samsung won't say how many zones the Q9 or Q8 has. One of my Samsung technical manager friends did tell me the Q9 had twice s many local dimming zones with thousands of additional LEDs. Peak luminance and minimum luminance levels are also better on the Q9 vs. the Q8.

One more difference is that the 2018 Q9 and Q7 have "one Connect" boxes, but the Q6 and Q8 do not. Q6 and Q8 have all in/outputs on the back and side of the TV.

I sent a lot of time with the Q9 and Q8 and I was very impressed with the overall picture quality!

No word on an 88" Q9, the largest QLED is the 82" Q6.

Do you have these in your store set up yet Robert ? where did you view the q8 and q9, or are you referring to your time at CES?

No I'm in Nashville TN at a professional Custom Installation trade convention. Samsung, Sony and LG are exhibiting along with all of the major audio and custom installation vendors.

I'm expecting our 1st allocation mid April.

Any word on a Q8 or an 85/88" model? Got some people on AVS asking about the larger sizes.

Nothing official from Samsung at this time. In the QLED line-up the 82" Q6 is the largest screen.

Shame about 82" only coming in q6. Large tv are what people want. It is looking like LG 77" oled might be sweet spot for quality and size.

If Samsung can release a Q8 or 9 at 88" for around 10k. They will have success.

Samsung just announced the 2018 88" Q9F. No launch date or price yet, so stand by for the next update.

Theres a few people over on AVS that are interested in the 88" Q9 since it appears to maybe be the only true premium large set in 2018. 900F seems like a good tv but it looks like the Q9 will be on another level with a more advanced backlight system and improved viewing angles as well. the 85" 900F will offer a nice value for the price though. so we'll see if samsungs new pricing strategy includes keeping that 88" Q9 closer to its competition rather than the 20k tag they've used the past few years.

Samsung's Q9F is in a higher class. I would agree that in some attributes of image performance the Q9F will be better then the X900F. I'm looking forward to putting them head-to-head on our TV Shootout wall for a careful comparison.

I'd like to see and identify all of the differences, motion resolution, MLL, peak luminance, tone mapping of all HDR formats, and color fidelity.

My comparisons do not consider the selling prices of the displays, we just focus on image quality so the buyers make the best purchase choice that match their budget and needs.

Just got home last night to beat the east coast's winter storm. 1+ feet of snow with high winds. I watched Samsung's press conference on Youtube.

My company was awarded "2017 Dealer of the Year" for the North East Region.

Hey Robert, am I seeing this correctly that the 75Q9F will be in the shootout? why choose the 75 over the 65? Don't we want all the tvs to the same size?

So I tried linking up this thread for people wanting up to date information on the 88" Q9F and I received an infraction for posting a retail link. I disagree that simply posting a link to a thread about information is actually posting a retail link. Ill just have to do it the old fashioned way and relay the information myself

For our 2018 TV Shootout this is the 1st year I'll be using 75" - 77" class displays. If LG's 65SK9500PUA makes it into the event it will be the only 65".

Sorry you got caught up in AVS's censorship campaign. Seems like they feel that other forums and authorized dealers that are not under their control are considered a threat.

I'm glad you and many other fine folks that want to learn all of the important information available are members here.

We now have all of Samsung's 2018 series listed with prices, specs and availability dates along with .pdf spec sheets.

Robert, what are your thoughts on the LG SK9000? I see that it is going to have HDR and Dolby Vision. Its at an attractive price and it says it's full array backlight.

Robert I'm not seeing the 88" Q9. Am I missing it?

Will you be using the C8 or wallpaper 77?
