I missed this one in theaters but I’m down for more Pacific Rim, even if Guillermo isn’t involved. 4K, here I come!

Do we know if there is anything special about the IMAX release of this like a bigger aspect ratio or scenes actually filmed with their cameras?

I'll have to see the film first, it could be a real piece of shit, but as long as it's halfway decent I'll probably be adding it to the collection. Giant monsters! Giant robots! Charlie Day and Burn Gorman reprising their roles! The awesome theme music!

I really surprised myself at how much I enjoyed the first movie. Here's hoping the second is as good.

In del Toro's absence, I expect more generic corporate filmmaking this go around vs. the stylish and artfully executed original - which the trailers also seem to indicate is the case - buuuuut such "studio products" can still provide decent entertainment so all hope isn't lost. I'm certainly hoping it can show me a good time, if nothing else.

I've heard some pretty bad things about this film from test screenings late last year and into this year.

I’ve heard it compared to Independence Day: Resurgence...so there’s that :/

This movie has been ruined for me because of one of its actors. I do not like John Boyega. His intense method of acting has run out of steam for me. I'm glad he was not in the second movie of the current SWs movies. He is always in a huff and wound up too tightly. Beyond that, he brings nothing to a movie.

I’m going to guess they mean Rogue One. But there’s no way Boyega would have been in it anyway since the film is set way before Finn was born.

Well that one is full of missed opportunities. And yet I started to enjoy it more for what it is after repeated viewings.
