Default Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom - Box-Office Thread

Presales in China are off the charts and tracking has it opening to $105M conservatively, but the 3 day could hit $135M.

The early release in the UK and other territories might dampen the domestic impact if critical and audience reaction is a tad tepid.

It was always going to come in lower domestically than JW so the impact might be minimal.

It won’t make anything close to the first one. I would be shocked if it pulls $400 million domestic. I am sure it will be a fun ride and I’ll be going to see it . No poll for opening weekend?

It will nicely domestically, but it will fizzle out sooner rather than later. Final domestic haul around $325M.

JW was a nostalgic event...not just a movie. It provided a fun ride for many. Now we get a sequel two years later, mediocre to poor reviews, a lame story (from what I can see) and following I2 that started its box office run in a huge way.

It would not surprise me to see this film open lower than $120 million domestically...even close to $110 Million. Internationally it has done great. Still a box office shadow of the movie from a couple of years ago.

JW was an aberration though. I don't think anyone expected it to make the kind of bank it did.

No one did. Predictions from BOM and BoxOffice.com were nowhere near as high as 200 million.

I remember my own prediction: I thought it'd be a hit if it opened to 80 million.

JW was a phenomenon, it hit all the right notes and thrived.

It never crossed my mind that it'd be as huge as JW in the United States, but I think it's gonna be big anyway. At the very least 300 million domestic and 600 million overseas.

The original made 652M domestic. Sequels most of the time makes more than the previous. 500M is my minimum prediction on the domestic but this thing could soar like the first one did

Movies like JW and TFA did astronomical numbers partly because of nostalgia. That's goNE now so I could see a gross in the $425M range...which is fine.

Not when the previous installments make what JW made.
