Yeah that was a missed opportunity. Iirc, the Pro drops $50 on that date as well.

Yup, I created a thread about the PS anniversary sale in the hot deals forum (which includes the $50 temporary price drop for the PS4 pro). I am surprised that the didn’t drop the price of the standard PS4 down to $250 (like last year when the gold edition released).
