Saw this on CriterionForum. Not actual "news", but IMDb.com has a page for a Woody Allen comedy to be released in 2020. It'll be a USA/Spain co-production. Producer Jaume Roures worked with Allen in Midnight in Paris, You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger and Vicky Christina Barcelona.

Does he have anyone left who will work with him besides Diane Keaton and Alec Baldwin? I’d definitely go see a Woody Allen movie starring those two.

I'd like to see him work with Steve Carrel more. Those two seem like a solid match. I think Allen could write a solid lead role for that guy.

One of Allen's family dramedies about three siblings (played by Keaton, Baldwin and Carrell) would be awesome.

The mileage is beginning to assert itself, but I'm glad to see he is still directing, still smiling.
Every year since 1972 I've looked forward to the latest Woody Allen film.

His career is unprecedented.

Audiences have changed, movies have changed, and Woody Allen has changed but not that much. He consistently delivers an auteur work that is unmistakably his.

Excellent. I'd love to see Woody work with Javier Bardem again. I think VCB is Woody's best film from 2000 and on. Bardem's Juan Antonio is unforgettable. The best scene from the film is the lap dissolves with Bardem and Hall - beautiful scene!

He does have supporters in Europe (and even actors/actresses still willing to work with him - wasn't it Isabelle Huppert who said she'd still like to?) but this might be tricky, I wonder if Rainy Day will be his last.

Steve Carell's last name has been spelled wrong two different ways in this thread, lol.

Interested to see how Woody's next plays out... who he'll cast, who'll finance it... where he'll film it. Hopefully some solid news soon...

says a deal will be finalised on Allen's 2019 film (in Spain). Also says A Rainy Day in New York is being released in December 2018 (perhaps dumped straight to Prime?)

Not sure what's happening anymore, the Spanish source might be outdated with regards to it getting released.
