Noticed Well Go are releasing this on Blu-ray in October, and decided to look into it. It looks pretty awesome, and is getting some very positive reviews so far. It'll be released in select theaters in the US starting this Friday.

That... actually looks great.
And this is coming from someone who generally dislikes the stuff my home country is mostly churning for the masses. ![]() |

This looks like the first legit big release I've ever seen come out of the PI. Maybe cause I'm so used to seeing those corny action flicks that looks like they were filmed on VHS that my folks seem to watch on GMA or TFC. |

Caught this at the New York asian film festival. It was alright. The cinematography and production design is excellent. It's nothing like The Raid though. You won't see flashy choreographed fights as they intentionally went for a more realistic, sloppy fight scenes. MMA fighter Brandon Vera has a nice presence and a few cool moments. Anne Curtis has a cool 3 min single take as she fights several dozens, up and down a house. I think its worth a look even if its a bit long and low on character development. Body count is in the hundreds.

The cinematography and design were indeed excellent. The best I've ever seen for a Pinoy movie. And yes, no choreographed fights like The Raid, just bruisin and brawlin which reminds me more of like the hallway fight in Old Boy. Vera has lots of cool moments, almost too many to the point it becomes satirical. Character development is lacking yes, but because this movie thrusts you right into the action basically, there isn't much need for it. It's like an extended roller coaster ride, instead of a slow burn obviously. Would definitely suggest it just to support Pinoy cinema and because this is like the closest thing I've ever seen to a Filipino movie having Hollywood-like production value. lol |

A bit sloppy. At times I wasn't sure if I was watching an action thriller or comedy. But, the two leads were good. 3/5
