Default Need help with Sony 1080 receiver

So I have a Sony STRD1080, Sony 800X and Sony 900E TV

I’m running audio directly from Sony 800X 4K player to BD/DVD input. I have a 5.1.2 setup with firing up speakers for Atmos. For the life of me I can’t get Atmos displayed on the receiver, just Linear PCM. I setup my speakers and in menu set that my Sony firing up speakers are heights not surrounds. Any ideas? Total noob so appreciate the help.

Selecting A.F.D mode gets you Atmos, (cycle through using the 2Ch/Multi button) Then keep pressing the display mode button on the front of the unit until you see 'Atmos'.
I've only had mine a week so haven't worked everything out myself yet!

Thanks. I had that already setup, but what I found is that I had "BD Audio MIX" setting set to on in Sony 800X player and turning that off did the trick.

Thanks

I've had multiple incidents with this receiver where I've found that my speaker distance and crossover settings have returned to default. Has anyone else experienced this issue?

I have had mine for over 18 months, and haven't experienced any problems with it losing the settings.

However, my one does a couple of odd things, though:

1) It will only turn of via the remote half of the time, leaving me to go over and switch it on from the unit. No, nothing wrong with the batteries or anything blocking the signal (it's line-of-sight) and is just a case of it not being bothered to do it.

2) When it does turn on, it's usually accompanied by a heavy "doyyyng" sound.
