A dying man’s report of a ritual black mass stirs Britain’s security chief into action, and a mansion filled with young vampire girls is soon discovered. And this is but the first twist in a labyrinth of horror. Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee pair up for the final Hammer Dracula in this follow-up to Dracula A.D. 1972. In this go-round, the Count (Christopher Lee, naturally) follows a more pulpish, super-villainous playbook, posing as a millionaire industrialist alive and well and living in London while secretly brewing up a batch of super-plague in a quest to destroy the world. Mixing Satanists, spies and sci-fi, the film makes viewers glad that Peter Cushing is on hand to solidly anchor the more outré elements as the effortlessly expositioning Dr. Van Helsing. Lee, in turn, has more dialogue as Dracula than was the norm, and ratchets up the evil to the nth degree. Joanna Lumley (Absolutely Fabulous) costars. Also known as Count Dracula and His Vampire Bride.

I've had this on DVD for over a decade and still haven't watched it. Forgive me, Father, for I have sinned.

There are certain releases where only the Anolis will do. That's one of them.

About half a second I believe and far more expensive than the UK edition (if you can even still get it) .
I have both but the Anolis isn't longer in the true sense

So with Scream releasing Dracula Prince of Darkness Collector Edition in december, do you think they will get to do these that are coming out from WAC? Or will these be WAC only? Thoughts? The reason i ask is i have no Hammer films as of yet and would like them to match if possible.

I don't see why Scream would re-release these, but they are becoming the double/triple-dip masters.

But I'll take a Warner Archive release any day over Scream, personally.

Why? Scream's quality has only gotten better over time, and they'd pour on the extras. This looks to be bare bones.

If you're bothered about labels matching I would stop buying Hammer films right now.
The rights to Hammer movies are spread far and wide across practically every Hollywood studio there is

No kidding. The six films in the Frankenstein series with Peter Cushing are spread out amongst five different rights holders.

Yes, quitting while you have zero is the only way they will match. I understand the desire, though; I made custom cases for all of my Hammer DVDs, using original poster art whenever possible.

Yeah i was just curious since Shout wasn't one of the actual studios that made any of these but is doing a collector edition. I just wondered if they would continue to get the rights from the various studios to keep making collector edition versions. The custom route may be how i do it as well. So bottom line is just to buy them when i see them and if i better version comes out then sell it off. LOL

Now we know for sure there's not going to be a Vol 2 of their Hammer Horror set. This also seems like it would imply that Horror of Dracula and/or Curse of Frankenstein either got licensed or are going to be a while, otherwise I'd think they'd have done a Vol 2.
