Default 'The Field Guide to Evil’ --Horror Anthology

Quote:
The film focuses on dark folklore. Created to give logic to mankind’s darkest fears, these stories and others laid the foundation for what we now call the horror genre. Creepy tales of possession, curses, love, lust, and envy

Spinning tales in Field Guide to Evil are Veronika Franz and Severin Fiala (Goodnight Mommy), Peter Strickland (The Duke of Burgundy), Agnieszka Smoczynska (The Lure), Katrin Gebbe (Nothing Bad Can Happen), Can Evrenol (Baskin), Calvin Reeder (The Rambler), Ashim Ahluwalia (Miss Lovely), and Yannis Veslemes (Norway).

The Field Guide to Evil, which Neon will be releasing on March 29, 2019.

Now this looks something different to the horror genre as i do support both independent and foreign horror markets than mainstream despite a few mainstream horror films surprised me.

Caught this in theaters last night. Like many anthologies the parts are greater than the whole, but this one hits more than misses. Some are genuinely freaky with good jump scares, while others are gory, and a couple are more whimsical. None are never less than at least interesting. Nice open credits with animation of "old-world" illustrations, and introductions into each segment by way of a book flipping through pages. I stayed all the way through the end credits, not because I was expecting a "stinger", but the distressed look of the scrolling text along with the music/sounds were hypnotic.

Strongly recommended!

Based on the trailer, this looks like it has some potential to be a good flick.

Recently given a Made On Demand Universal DVD release in USA. No bonus features I'm presuming. https://www.uphe.com/movies/the-field-guide-to-evil

As I'm typing this, Amazon & Vudu currently have HD Digital Rentals for $2.99.
