The Lone Ranger Season 1 and 2 - New Release - Blu-ray Forum

Just got the new release of The Lone Ranger Season 1 and 2 from Wal Mart for $24.96. Season 1 is 8 Discs and Season 2 is 4 Discs. Comes in a cool box set and the cover art is really cool. Disc art is just plain..No Booklet.

I would post a picture of it, but I cant find any on the internet. Looks like a really quiet re-release..

Finally those that missed out on the 75th version can own it for an affordable price. It doesnt have the bonus disc that the 75th had though.. Transfers are supposed to be the same. Paying 150-300 bucks for the 75th is just out of this world!!

Hopefully they can also re-release Seasons 3,4 and 5 as the box set that those are in goes for 500+ bucks!

My dad grew up with The Lone Ranger and since he has retired he watches the four hour block that is on some channel on weekdays and then on another on Sat. They used to stretch the episodes to fill the screen but lately they have been showing them OAR. Anyway, I should get these for him. I bought him all of the George Reeve Superman DVDs a few years back and he loved them.

This is now showing in amazon as a pre-order to be released on May 14th!! However, I got it at my Wal-Mart back in Feb. I have not seen it at a Wal-Mart Since. Has anyone else seen it at a Wal_mart? or did I just get lucky and someone put it out by mistake? If so why would they have it that early?

Its even listed at Wal-Mart as a pre order as well! Guess I got lucky somehow!!

More than likely Walmart had an exclusive window for it. I seen it at my store also.

A shame that the rest of the seasons weren't released like this...must have been poor sales? The color ones are my favorite (and what I remember in reruns from when I was younger).

Is there any reason why Universal doesn't re-release the entire show, or prep it for Blu-Ray?

Seems like a series that would be evergreen.

Agreed. I'm frustrated that the latter season are not out on some kind of disk. The only way to get those last few seasons, and thus the entire show together in one set was that expensive box set from 2013. I wish I had been able to afford it back then, but I couldn't. I don't expect all the swag from it to come back, but the episodes would be nice. Blu-ray would be amazing, but I'd settle for DVD.

I wished we could have a remastered version of the entire series, hopefully with a healthy amount of extras. It doesn't even have to be on BR, could be a DVD boxset but with a cleaner, sharper image, and hopefully with eng subs

I wish they hadn’t cut the Mark VII logo at the end. That was always a part of the show for me.
