Canadian director Brett Kelly might be the lowest-ranked director on IMDb—most of his films have ratings lower than 2.0.
This thread collects his films that are available on Blu-ray. Most of them are available only in Germany, some under alternate titles. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Avenging Force: The Scarab (2010) ![]() ![]() Iron Soldier (2010) ![]() ![]() Thunderstorm: The Return of Thor (2011) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Jurassic Shark is included in SD on this collection: ![]() Last edited by Zarak; 09-13-2020 at 12:31 PM. |

I'm a bit surprised that Ouija Shark hasn't gotten a Blu-ray release anywhere, but Brett's newest masterpiece, Konga TNT, will be released by SRS Cinema on Blu-ray in October.
The SRS preorder page says, "The movie was made during pandemic lockdown using clips from friends, fans, stock footage and footage Brett shot himself," so this looks to be a movie of the quality we have come to expect. ![]() |

![]() ![]() An underwater drilling operation frees a giant, prehistoric freshwater shark in this low-budget Canadian cheesefest by director Brett Kelly that currently has a 1.5 rating on IMDb. The IMDb page categorizes the movie as an "Action, Adventure, Comedy," but the movie has no comedy—it attempts to be a totally straight movie about shark terror, which is one of its many flaws. In the story, two groups of people—some college students and some criminals who stole a multimillion dollar painting—are trapped on an island by the newly freed shark. The stolen painting has fallen into the water and the criminals want to retrieve it (even though it seems certain that it's ruined), so they use their underlings and the college students as bait in their attempts. The only good thing that can be said about Jurassic Shark is that it features some women in bikinis. Aside from that, the cinematography is artless, the acting is terrible, the writing is pedestrian, the story is ridiculous, the CGI is cartoonish, and there are too many filler scenes of people walking. The movie has a few dumb plot points that seem like lapses in logic on the part of the filmmakers rather than deliberate attempts at being zany. I couldn't tell whether the German Blu-ray is truly HD or not. Some of these cheap import BDs are essentially upscaled DVDs, and the credits of Jurassic Shark have the slightly blurry appearance of SD. The beginning text about prehistoric sharks is all in German in this edition. The only bonus feature is a selection of trailers. The UK DVD is supposedly 15 minutes longer than this release, God help us. |
