Default New well Kinda Format Adoption

hiall, ive been following blu ray from the start, no matter what my mate said with hd-dvd i stood my ground and nows the time to adopt. I am unsure what player to buy.

the problem is, is the new profiles 1.1 and 1.2 i beleive obviously i dont want to buy a 1.0 profile player, then again i would like to buy a PS3 with remote but I dont like the 40Gb cut down version only the 60GB.

Any ideas or suggestions?

cheers

Welcome to Blu-Ray Camp! I suggest you to pick PS3 80GB over 40GB, since 40GB doesn't have PS2 backward compatibilities. Another thing, PS3 2.10 Firmware already have 1.1 profile via Software Update. The Good News is that BD-Live is coming to PS3 this year!

I think im going to have to go for the PS3 option then mind that said does the 80GB version play PS2 games? I know the quaility is nowhere near as good as PS3 games it just seems a pitty to let whats left of my games to go to waste!!

never had any PS2 games so I got the 40Gb, am well happy with it, its really quite when playing, I recommend getting the bluetooth remote for playback makes life a lot easier, (can also use it for navigating the PS3 menus).
