Hopefully this is getting closer to a release. Today they announced the 4k restoration is premiering at Locarno:

Locarno closed out 2 weeks ago. Any news on the 4K presentation?

Other than the Mubi announcement that the 4K restoration will be on streaming in late September, there doesn't seem to be any news. Would love to see a review of the restoration quality.

You said something that was important to you about going with MUBI was that the film could be purchased digitally. Are you planning another physical release?
We are finishing that. I want there to be, because otherwise people will keep complaining that they bought it for $300 on eBay. That was the reason I went for this. We are producing it on Blu-ray. I will follow up with them, because that was the one of the main things for me, getting it streaming and then physically making it available for people. It’s got the kind of following that likes having it around.

Would be pretty incredible if after going to the lengths of a 4k restoration, they'd lock the 4k to streaming and only release it physically on standard blu-ray.

But then again strangers decisions have been made in this industry.
