Finally. I read an article that it's being developed for PS4 and Xbox One so it looks like it's coming to the current gen consoles.

Based on the development cycle I would guess IF it happens next year it will be October if not then were looking at 2021

Theres a ton Blizzard needs to fix in order to make this a worthy Diablo Game

Music - you need the original broody music that was seriously lacking in D3
Ability Tree - Bring back the D1/2 Ability tree not that rune bullshit everyone had where all characters were the same, let me dump points into my abilities to make them stronger
Trading - Bring back D2 trading dont lock the dam items down
D2 Item Randomization - Yep just use the D2 algorithms
Maps - Stop with the maps that do not generate different directions, having the map be 100% the same sucked for D3, D2 Map randomization was awesome.
Use Initial D3 concepts - Monsters coming from below, coming from the ceiling walls etc D3 had some fantastic concepts which were dropped and never realized.

Seems like all we need is a Diablo II 4K remake

This looks great though, definitely picking up for next gen hardware.

I still enjoy D3 but very much looking forward to this. At the same time, I also miss D2. Hopefully, D4 will mix the best of everything!

Well, there goes my purchase

I'm actually steaming through Diablo 3 Reaper of Souls right now and although it isn't my usual type of game, i've begun to appreciate the way it unfolds the story and whatnot by having you find the lore books, talk to chracters etc. rather than just be fed cinematics which tbh i would have preferred. That alongside a 3rd person view a la anything else these days but i understand that's not whay Diablo is as a game for its fans. S

However, having successfully played all the way through the original Diablo 3 campaign now and just starting Reaper of Souls i don't see whe Blizzard have deliberately done this for consoles. Even when they admit you can practically play it all offline but they want you connected.

So once say i don't have internet for a while etc. i can't play and that's ridiculous. In fact, the irony here on that is that i only went back to play Diablo 3 BECAUSE i didn't have some internet atm and wanted to go through games i needed to finish.

I understand some games like World of Warcraft are MMOs or Overwatch are online shooters, but Diablo is full of single player content. We saw how forcing gamers online only cost Microsoft the entire generation and how bad that fumble cost them to Sony. I just don't see why Blizzard think they should bully us into it too instead of simply doing it like Diablo 3. If they change their mind, i will hopefully pick this up. If not, i still may when it's in the bargain bin at the absolutely lowest price.

And there goes the same mistake made from Diablo 3 they are now making with 4 forcing online only is some bullshit especially when SE decides it needs to do maint.

I dont like playing Diablo with other ppl I just wanna run my shit on my own and not have others dictate how my run is going to go. This game is going to REALLY have to impress me in order to get me to buy it at this point no matter how much from D2 they add to it which looks pretty considerable.

I would think its safe to say this is going to be released on the PS5 the same day as PS4. Odds are it won't be out for another year or 2, maybe 3.
