First to comment eh? Sign me up for this! I'm a big fan of Guy Richie's frenetic take on the character and it will be a day one purchase for me.

Now if Warney can make The Man from U.N.C.L.E happen as well! It's such a fun movie and it will look amazing in the format.

Yes, please. It's hard imagining that one looking any better, but I'd certainly love if it did.

It does look amazing and a 4k version with HDR has been on Vudu for 4 years. WB has quite a catalog of titles with 4K HDR transfers completed and I could never figure out why they wouldn't release them on disc. I remember the advertising of those budget titles to bring the format to a wider audience and it worked!

The Man From U.N.C.L.E. , 12 Strong, Sucker Punch, Date Night, etc were released early on in 4K with HDR. You can go to Vudu to see the releases. I will be picking these up even though I did buy the titles for $5 a piece on BF a few years back. Better late than never but they should have been released years ago. Better yet release a budget line of WB catalog 4k titles!

It's so much fun. And I haven't viewed since 2016 or so. But just couldn't bring myself to watch the SDR blu-ray, though. This is such welcome news! My eyes lit up seeing the subforum today

day one... but what still bothers me was 1 and 2 didn't have the same AR...

I kinda agree with you. what makes matters worse is Paramount/Warner/Disney cropping/open-matting footage to fill the screen instead of presenting the film in 1.85, making films look like high budget TV movies

There's a ton of sequels that don't have the same AR as the original.. Aliens, Bad Boys II, Final Destination 3, Death Race 2, Predators etc etc

And yes, Jared Harris overdubbed Moriarty's voice for the DVD and BD release. The original voice on the theatrical release was never identified, but since it's Warners, there's pretty much zero chance of them restoring it to that version. Not that it matters, it's a minor revision and helps with the continuity between the two (AR inconsistencies aside).

My wife turned off whichever one (the first or second) we were watching when pentagrams and that kind of stuff showed up in the movie. Never seen these beyond whatever played up to that point.

I don't remember thinking these were amazing or memorable though.

To be fair, I was never a big fan when I read these. I much prefer other classics that I read (Around the World in 80 Days, Last of the Mohicans, etc), but to each their own.
