Default Samsung 4K HDR TV and optical TosLink connection.

I'm thinking about getting a 2 meters optical cable to connect my Samsung 4K HDR set that has TosLink output to my Pioneer SC LX-76 A/V receiver, I don't like to have HDMI-CEC on and have to switch it on and off everytime I want to play something from Amazon Video and other platforms.
My question is, both Amazon Video and most Spanish networks broadcast on Dolby Digital Plus. Is Dolby Digital Plus transmited over TosLink or only downconverted plain Dolby Digital?
Thanks in advance for your replies.

Downconverted, based on my limited experience and Dolby's own documentation about DD+.

Thank you.
I down know why but my 2017 Samsung 4K HDR set doesn't output Dolby Digital Plus via HDMI ARC. My set has three HDMI ports, only HDMI 1 if 2.0, the remaining two are HDMI 1.4 including HDMI 3 that's the ARC one, this one should output Dolby Digital Plus doesn't it? Well,it doesn't.
Most OTA digital channels in Spain broadcast on Dolby Digital Plus, even the AtresMedia, the biggest private broadcaster in Spain, does it at Dolby Digital Plus at 48 Khz/24 bit,not bad.

The audio from Amazon Video and other streaming services is compressed, so whatever audio you'll be receiving from streaming, it won't sound the same as if you're playing physical media.

It's usually down to what the TV allows, you may only get DD2.0 through optical, if you only get DD5.1 through ARC, I don't think Toshlink will improve it.
