Why can't they leave the classics alone. I just don't think this is going to work well. Particularly if it should have a more modern soundtrack.

That was actually one of the big reasons the film was delayed. That's what happens when you cast a YouTuber hoping to bring in a young audience though. This was set for a theatrical release about a year and a half ago, but back in 2018 after they filmed it he kept getting his poor PR shenanigans in the press and everyone backed off. This was supposed to be Rothe's big breakout after the HDD movies. It almost got moved to STX last year, but MGM balked at the list minute and nixed that deal. Now they have to settle for a VOD release.

This is a ridiculous reason since he's barely even in the trailer at all.

Wasn't No Doubt's "Just A Girl" used 2-3x last year? I know Captain Marvel and Teen Spirit.. but there might have been a third.

Yeah, it's pure bubble-gum fluff, but it's also sweet, charming, funny and has a killer soundtrack. And Jessica Rothe and Chloe Bennet with the 80's hair/clothes...

I'll actually pick up the Blu-Ray when it hits $10 (and grab the 1983 film, which I also watched for the first time today). I also loved how they cleverly inserted footage from the '83 film into a driving scene.
