It's so generous of the first movie to present the second movie to us. I'll have to remember to thank the first movie the next time I see it.

Ratings are a little mixed for this, even the first film was more of a rental. There’s just so much better quality titles competing for purchase right now.

Loved the first movie but this is clearly more of a large scale action movie like World War Z. Funnily enough, Train to Busan works great as a prequel to the WWZ movie. After all, in WWZ they do say the first mention of a zombie was in Korea...

Yeah, I thought the original was great and it certainly didn't need a follow-up.

Did you thank American Pie and Fast & Furious?

Seems odd only having 5.1 when the original had DTS-X! Wonder what it got theatrically?

The early specs listed on HDMovieSource are often not 100% correct. So this release might very well have DTS-X.

Bringing the original to 4K in parallel with the sequel would make sense, and the fact that it wasn't makes me think it's less likely than I would've hoped.

I really wouldn't recommend a blind buy for this film, there is pretty much no similarities between the original and this sequel (which isn't bad). They were going for this Mad Max-esque vibe but the creatives involved just missed the mark on the execution.

There is also a TON more melodrama in this one.

Yes on the Mad Max vibe! I saw this in theaters last week and was a little surprised by all the car/driving-based action sequences. It's definitely a very different vibe from the first film and really doesn't have any direct connection to it, other than carrying forward the events from that film. This release is starting at a good price, so I'll likely get it, but I may wait for a Target B2G1 sale or something.
