Default By the Numbers: Anime on Blu-ray

My intention in creating this thread is to monitor and at times graphically express the market data behind anime on Blu-ray, particularly in the United States, although releases in other countries (especially Japan) may be considered later. This means keeping track of the number of anime Blu-rays released per year (as well as months), tracking the number of anime Blu-rays by publisher, and tracking/comparing retail prices. This data will be collected here "for fun," so anyone curious as to this data can check this dedicated thread without wading through others.

If any other forum members are interested in contributing, please let me know via PM or post below.

Will this include any sales numbers? That's always interested me.

If that data is publicly available, or there are public means by which to at least get at something like it, I don't see why this thread couldn't cover that as well.

They also had this way back for the Fullmetal Alchemist: Conqueror of Shamballa DVD. This is also one reason why the DVDs for that are practically worthless despite being OOP for the last 5 years, it's only the Blu-ray that is expensive and rare as it sold less and wasn't out as long.

Also some trivia. On an old ANNCast, Adam and Lance stated that Ouran High School Host Club sold very, very well on DVD. Then when the Blu-ray came out, it bombed. Wonder how sales for the Blu-ray are doing now given the current landscape.
