Default Modest Theater room in Basement

We have converted one of the rooms in unfinished basement to HT room.

Room is of 9' height , 20' length and 13' wide extending to another room of 10'W X 12'L.

I am not much of DIY guy, contracted to a local vendor in Atlanta, GA.

Aiming to set up for 7.2.4.

This was before we started work. Most of the room is completed. Planning to complete the set up this weekend.

Completed Room Pics will follow...

Default Vendors I got stuff from...

Below are the vendors whom I bought stuff from and my experiences ...

JVC NX7 - Projectorscreen.com - Excellent customer service. I had an issue with one of the HDMI ports. They get on with JVC and got the replacement approved within few hours and got the new one delivered in 5 days.

Stewart Screen
- Craig Peter (AVscience.com) - Very patient with my request for multiple quotes. Awesome communication and provided a great price compared to the quotes I got from others.

Emotiva Power Amp - Emotiva website. This is my first emotiva purchase. No complaints. Liked their fast delivery.

Denon AVR-X8500H & all of 7.1.4 SVS speakers : Crutchfield. I love these guys. Most of my AV purchases in last 4 years are from them. They have excellent customer service and 60 day return policy. I like their 3 Month payment plan. It gets easier with expensive stuff.

Quite a bit .
I have sold my previous set up for nice prices. Most notable are OPPO 203 & OPPO 103 both are region free. They went for some exorbitant prices on ebay. Its very heartbreaking to loose them but I prepared myself thats the only way to fund the new screen & receiver.

Man, I’d love to set up a nice home theater spot in my house. I just need to research how/where the best place to put it would be.

Nice bit of kit there and great sized room, nothing in this makes me think modest, but I love it all just the same

NX7 on a Stewart Screen is going to knock your socks off.

I'm curious... Why an Emotiva Pre-Pro and a Denon AVR?

Okay, scratch that. Looking at the pix, I see you bought an Emotiva Amplifier, not a Processor, and that makes sense to me

What’s modest about this. Nothing.
Excellent choices.
Congratulations

Default Finished room

We have finished the setup much later than originally planned.
Still needs to do bit of cable management.
Using the old HT rack for now to place the equipment in an open room next to theater room.
Projector is placed in wooden box with fans for inflow and to exhaust hot air.Set up the projector box back of HT room in another room.
After installing the 160" screen, noticed that FH prime elevations on ceiling are blocking bit of image. I don't want to mess with the projector placement hence decided to move to In Ceiling speakers. Also upgraded Atmos from 4 to 6 with Top(Middle) height speakers.

7.2.6(13.2) system:

Fronts - SVS Utra Towers, Center - Ultra Center, Side Surr. - Ultra Surrounds,
Surround Rears - SVS Prime Bookshelves
Front & Rear Heights - KEF Ci 200RR THX
Top (Middle) Height - Klipsch CDT-5800-C II
Dual Subwoofers - PC4000 & PB3000.

Receiver - Denon X8500H, Power Amp - Emotiva XPA3 Gen3.
Players - Panasonic 820, Oppo 203 & Apple TV 4K
Harmony Hub & Ultimate One remote.

Congratulations - that looks absolutely awesome. I've actually got exactly the same cinema room as you! Well, at least when it comes to the Billy bookcases - the rest, not quite

Nicely done! Can I ask what the thought process was regarding putting both rows of seating on risers? Why not have the first row on the floor level with the back row on the riser? Was there a reason for elevating both rows?

Thanks. Had 2 raisers as we thought when we have more people (which is quite often) we could put Bean bags in front row without obstructing row behind. It also kind of helped with viewing angle for first row as screen is big and close to ceiling.

Ah that makes sense, nice thinking! I dont usually see two rows of raised seating like that and so I figured that there was a reason but wasn't sure what it would be. I'm hoping to begin work on my own theater in a space very similarly sized as yours in the next year or two and so I'm always looking at examples of what other people have done to see what makes sense in my own home.
