Sweden Chernobyl 4K UHD

https://cdon.se/film/chernobyl-4k-ul...u-ray-54501544

It looks like another HBO show is coming to 4K UHD. Up for pre-order here in Sweden with a late november release date.

Damn it all to hell. This was a rare BD purchase for me last year since I felt pretty confident it wouldn't get a 4K release. Gonna double dip though because it should look awesome and it's the best show I've seen in years.

Once again, I get excited over a 4K release in the US, only to find out when I click on the thread it is an announcement for a foreign release with no mention of a US release. I dont know why you guys can't post these in the INTERNATIONAL thread

I really don't understand this attitude. 4K is region free, doesn't matter where it comes out you can buy and play it anywhere.

It’s still the wrong thread. Posting it here implies a US release is definitely coming. The same thing happened when a listing for a German UHD of Watchmen went up and it turned out to be false.

That is not the point. I much prefer US releases (but own many foreign, Region B releases) and find it much more expensive and difficult to import foreign releases. Don't we have a 4K International thread for a reason?

Not to mention hm83 was thoughtful enough to attach the Swedish flag to his post which can be seen before you even click on it.

Interesting question. What is defined as international vs non-international for 4K UHD BDs?

Non-International or "Domestic" = North America (including Canada)
International = all other countries

This forum clearly comes from an American perspective, despite almost half of the users (i would guess) come from outside the U.S. We could certainly designate by country or continent if the terms "domestic" and "international" do not work for most.... completely understood.

So that's about 40 quid? Not bad.

Didn’t Watchmen show up one one of these sites with a 4K release that hasn’t materialized?

Yep, which is why posts like these should be in the International section.

Hope this is legit, and that Watchmen is not far behind. Skeptical, but I'll remain optimistic.

Damn. Got the BD assuming that there was’t going to be a 4K BD since it’s a 2K DI. Haven’t even watched my BD yet.

Should probably have known better since it was a hugely appreciated and well regarded show.

Anyway, I appreciate HBO bringing shows to 4K BD discs. Will await those before buying going forward. No more regular BDs for me.

Nice!, got the steelbook last year, but will definitely upgrade to this.
