Oh, The Thing easily. I don't want to say Halloween is overrated or anything, but it's pretty much beat by beat how it plays in your head when you watch it.

Both are I think, Carpenter's two best films overall.

If either won, I wouldn't be upset tbh. For years I used to say The Thing, possibly watched it more times, but I vote Halloween for the impact it would have and the fact that I'm watching slasher movies currently
