Take this as rumor for now until more sources confirm but it is being reported Keaton has signed on for Batman Beyond

Small Screen is reporting that Michael Keaton has signed on to reprise the role of Bruce Wayne in a live-action Batman Beyond series for HBO Max. Fans have been clamoring to see Keaton in this role for many years, and if Small Screen’s supposed multiple sources are true, Keaton has already signed on the dotted line for the show.

If this proposed HBO Max series plays out like the original animated series of Batman Beyond, Michael Keaton would be playing a much older version of Bruce Wayne in a futuristic Gotham City. He would then take on the role of mentor to a brand new Batman, who was embodied by the character of Terry McGinnis in the animated series.

I don’t think WB has the guts for Batman Beyond. They’ve repeated passed over the character and even in the comic world he doesn’t get a lot of love. This is most definitely a I’ll believe it when I see it. Now of it does happen count me in though as super excited!

Funny thing is if this is true Keaton is perfect for it Hell I wouldn't have even minded Battfleck as a mentor. Batman Beyond is perfect for a dirty gritty take on the character. Yes WB has passed it over repeatedly however it seems whomever is at HBO Max is well aware of what the fans want. IDC where the rumor originated from if it helps the project materialize properly then im all for it.

Do I believe they are exploring all post Flash movie options with Keaton? Yes. Do I believe they have finalized any decisions to do so? No.

Keaton has been tight lipped. He wont even comment on Flashpoint and we know hes been confirmed for that. Do I believe they have deals for more then just Flashpoint sure its possible.

Yeah, I haven't commented on this previously because the source is sketchy, but like captveg said, I'm sure this was always a possibility anyway. Me thinks HBO are gonna wait and see what numbers the Snyder Cut pulls in before they give it (and similar DC properties) the official greenlight. And when that day comes, I'll be wetter than the River Ganges.
