Default 4k Player That Is Blu Ray & DVD Region Free?

Can anyone help, Need to buy a new 4k Blu Ray player and was wondering if you can get one that is region free for both 4K discs, Blu Ray Discs and also DVD region free.
Any suggestions?

Yes they will. The few locked 4K discs are using a work around to use the region coding for normal blu-ray. From what I read in the thread it seems as if an identifier is changed on the disc so the player thinks the 4K disc is a regular blu-ray. Still plays in 4K as far as I'm aware though.

I have ordered a region free DVD player, and later a region free blu ray player from 220 electronics and both were good, solid machines that I had no issues with.

My region free blu ray player is still going strong several years later, but I recently ordered a region free 4K player so I wouldn't have to have two machines hooked up. I found a better price at Bombay Electronics, so I purchased from them, and a day later, the unit I had purchased was further marked down another 15%. I emailed them and explained my situation and asked if they could match that price, since I had only placed the order 12 hours ago. I got a response in under 15 minutes (on Thanksgiving morning, no less!) cheerfully agreeing to do so and my Amex was credited the amount within a few days. They also shipped very quickly.

Ditto.

One of the guys there is a bit of a grump and makes it seem that just buying something from them is a massive inconvenience for him, but don't let that put you off.

^^Thumbs up for Perfect Signal also.

I recently got the Sony UBP-X700 from The Perfect Signal, lovely bunch of lads and arrived next day here in the UK. Came with a 4k movie of my choice from their list to boot!

No. Think Amazon though sell some but it’s Marketplace sellers using a front for some of the companies we mention earlier in thread. Cheaper to go direct.

High Street sellers are no good as the retailer needs to change the chips in the player or the firmware. Can’t buy out of the box in the U.K.

No, as they need to be hacked for DVD and chipped for blu-ray, so you'll only get one from independents.

But MRM and TPS are both very very well established companies - they've been around for over 20 years and are legitimate high street businesses, not some dodgy fly-by-night backstreet dealers.

I've bought equipment from both over the years and have never experienced any problems.

Yes both MRM and TPS have been around for years.

Got my 1st multi region DVD player from MRM in 1998. Used them ever since.

Just wondering, do these players require you to press any codes or sequence to change regions? Or is it just automatic.

Had a region-free player once but it required me to press red, yellow, green, blue, red, yellow etc to change the region.

BD you have to press code.
DVD is all automatic and seamless.

On my Sony 4K player (bought from MRM), it's literally as simple as - turn on player, press the corresponding colour button for the region you want (red for A, green for B, yellow for C - all in the order they appear on the remote, so very easy to remember) and that's it.

I’ve ordered from The Perfect Signal twice, first time a multi region Sony blu ray player from them direct. More recently a Sony 4K multi region for blu ray/dvd but via Amazon so got Prime next day delivery. TPS are really good and give a 3yr warranty with their multi region players. Any region dvd automatically plays and to change region for blu rays you simply press one of the coloured buttons on the remote before opening tray.

They should since these releases seem to be using the regular Blu-ray region coding to work around the 4k format being region free.
