The first 10 minutes or so of the first movie is pretty epic though, but that's about it.

There were dreams/rumors of Godzilla and PR sharing a universe back when the first Godzilla film was new, but there never seemed to be any serious likelihood it'd happen. Had the PR series done well, maybe that would've motivated something like that to happen.

1. Possibly my favourite singular high-concept 'blockbuster' film of the 2010's.
2. A noticeable step-down but still breezy, poppy slam-bang matinee fun, shame we'll never get a third film.

Will be breezing through the Netflix animation over the weekend.

I really enjoy both movies. I'm an easy mark for things like this, but even Uprising is a step up from something as basic as the recent Monster Hunter.
