I have the Scorpion Blu-ray, but I am really interested in the "alternate version" with the different credits sequence. I love this flick (one of my favorite slashers) so I might double-dip. I also have Scorpion's edition of Mortuary, but I think I'll pass on double-dipping with that one because it doesn't look like MVD is adding anything new. Glad to see MVD pick these up regardless, especially for those who missed out on the Scorpion discs.

Total double dip for the packaging alone.
Would really love a poster for the 'Side B' art instead. I like that one much more.

I bought the remastered Scorpion BD about two years ago. Curious about this "alternate presentation". There are two different HD transfers for this movie, one created by Multicom and another 2k scan done by Scorpion later. I presume this alternate version is the old HD transfer with mono audio, since Scorpion's remaster had the 3 channel stereo presented as 5.1.

I bought the more recent version Scorpion released. Think I'll stick with it, haven't even given it a spin yet.

Is the pre-credit sequence never-before-seen? Reason enough to double dip if so.

I don't recall it being on any previous release, or if it has there have never been 2 separate "versions" of the movie with it included there.

I've probably bought this movie more times than any other movie, literally. If I buy this one it'll probably be about the 7th or 8th time since I bought the original VHS tape.

It's a good thing not all boutiques support UHD. Once they milk us slipcover fiends they'll get us again with superior formats

Could be wrong about this, but I think the "alternate opening" probably refers to the de-colorization of the first scene, which was also the way the previous release was presented. This change in the color scheme was apparently done at the request of the director and may be the only difference. (I'm assuming the other version included here would restore the way it was seen theatrically.)

Yeah. It's a pity they seem to have dropped the isolated score, but all the other extras seem intact, too. Hopefully they used the newest master for the film.

No joke, I think this is the movie I have purchase more than any other through all of its formats. Can't resist the new slipcover and two versions. Ugh.

I would imagine so. It usually takes a while for new titles to be listed at BM. I would probably give it a few weeks.
